The WCPL Blog Goes Live

We're just getting started

This is the first blog post for the site since our updates and recent changes.

I'd like to thank Rico Fernandez, Rusty Glaze and other members of the WCPL Pit Crew for their support, assistance, perseverance and patience with me as I worked on getting up to speed.
I'm pretty excited to be working on the WCPL and helping to both promote their events and offer paintballers of all interests and abilities something a little bit different than your average tournament.

The WCPL isn't hosting "tournaments" per se, so much as it is holding Paintball Happenings, or Celebrations, Fetes, "Enhanced Competitions", 'Fests, Get-Togethers or whatever you care to call it, which brings me to our first ask, from you, our readers and supporters.
If you have previously attended a WCPL event, you know that what happens on the field is important, but that what happens off the field is just as important, if not more so.  These events are about hanging out with your friends - In Person; they're about meeting and greeting with some of the legendary players and industry types, without whom this game would not be; they're about shared moments, shared history, passing on the lore of our chosen sport, learning from fellow players and giving back to the game we all love so much, because  giving back and passing things on are the two ways that we can all help preserve, protect and grow this sport.

If you've not attended a WCPL event (please do), then you now know from the preceding what it is all about.  What we would like to hear from you and your fellow travelers is a good substitute for the word "tournament".  (Don't worry, we've already rejected "palooza").  There's no prize, just the knowledge that you're helping to contribute to something special in the world of paintball.

Shifting gears:  The California Classic, Hosted by Fred Schultz at Glen Forester's Ambush Paintball Park is fast approaching - Just two weeks to go - February 18 & 19 - so grab your teammates and register your team for the event at www.PBLeagues.com

Now, for some fun stuff.

We'd like to start featuring players, teams and their gear here on the WCPL blog - but there's a few rules to go over first:

Content:  This is a family-friendly league, blog and website.  We are interested in covering material that is appropriate for all age levels, which means please stay away from salacious content.  In fact, please err on the side of caution.  If you pause or hesitate for even a second prior to sending something along, follow your better judgment and DON'T send it along. Or contact us and ask first.
We are also not interested in content related to politics, religion or even "news of the day", if that news doesn't involve paintball.  There are plenty of outlets for all of those other kinds of content.  We want to concentrate on the REALLY important stuff - paintball.

We DO reserve the right to make judgement calls on any submitted content, and our decision(s) are final.  There is no appeal.  You can, however, request an explanation (which we are also under no obligation to provide, but will If we believe the request is legitimate.

These guidelines are pretty straight-forward and self-explanatory and we hope you receive them in the spirit in which they are intended, meant to keep this website and blog focused on family-friendly discussions of paintball related things.

Our intention is to provide new content here daily.  Since we are also in the business of promoting the sport and game of paintball, and everyone in it who participates, please give some serious consideration towards sending in information about your events, your team, you field or store.

Until next time - have a great day!
